These gorgeous wraps from Madagascar called lambas (“Lamba” is the native word for “piece of cloth”) are made from a natural silk found only on that distinctive island country. The color of the silk is organically light brown or tan, but it is dyed using local plants, roots, bark, clay and other natural elements. Once the silk fibers are hand spun into thread, the yarn in is carefully woven using a simple hand loom to create the magnificent finished products.
