ARTIST: Nara Guichon

Beleza is proud to bring you unique shawls, purses, and scarves designed by Nara Guichon, long known in Brazil for her exceptional work with extraordinary design, color and quality. Nara’s fashions are produced by her team of talented artisans – primarily single mothers and seniors on fixed incomes whose crafts of knitting and weaving are now able to support them.

Adelita is the principal seamstress and can literally cut any size desired and sew the garment with perfectly uniform stitches.

Affectionately known as Lourdes Rosendo, this remarkable lady creates most of Nara’s exquisitely designed sweaters – she can even knit with her eyes closed. Because she and her husband live on a fixed pension, the income she receives from her work with Nara greatly improves the quality of their lives, helping them afford needed medications and other basic items.

The production of the specialized yarns she uses is another important part Nara’s work. Suely is one of the gifted women who hand makes the exquisite yarns for Nara’s designs.

Solong is the newest weaver, but her talent has blossomed under the Nara’s watchful eye.
