Marcos and Iara reside in Nova Iguacu, Brazil where they produce their incredible crocheted stainless steel jewelry. With superb workmanship and an abundance of semiprecious stones available, they make this distinctive jewelry style come to life.

When she was a young child, Iara learned the craft of making crocheted jewelry from her mother. It is a rare skill and very few jewelers use this same technique. When orders are high, Iara spends about 10 to 12 hours each day designing and producing the jewelry. While she is hard at work with her craft, Marcos as a security guard in the City Traffic Control Office in Rio de Janeiro.

Marcos and Iara, both in their early twenties, are trying to earn the money to return to school. Partnering with Beleza has brought a significant improvement to their financial situation, as the orders for Iara’s jewelry are consistent and large. They are anticipating making their dream of higher education a reality.
